Even those small negative beliefs about ourselves can hinder our success in life. But it’s often so difficult to identify and deal with those tiny nuances of self-doubt. When you think about yourself becoming successful, old memories can crop up of those times when you failed in an area. This is one thing that all humans have in common. We have powerful brains where a vast number of memories are stored.
Try to think back and see whether there are events in your past that may have affected your thoughts and beliefs in some area.
A big step toward eliminating an obstacle like this is simply identifying it and realizing that it’s there and needs to be dealt with. You don’t have to be the life of every party but you should be able to attend a social gathering and feel comfortable about moving around the room and talking to people. While some of us are just naturally born with this gift, others may need to work at it.
If you need better public speaking skills, then get them. Don’t go through life struggling with something like public speaking, telling yourself that you won’t ever be good at it because your father wasn’t.
You Believe What You Tell Yourself!
Try making a list of affirming statements that deal with areas where you are struggling and say those out loud every day. You know and trust yourself so once you hear yourself saying these things out loud, you’ll actually be influenced by your own positive words.
As you encourage yourself, you build a strong foundation where you can create the abundant life that you desire. You can understand the fundamentals of successful living and apply those principles right where you are.
