The aggressive sport of football never fails to keep me on the edge of my seat. With brutal collisions, miracle plays, and jaw-dropping sequences, the football season is never boring. However, the game wouldn’t be the same without certain players that changed the way we view the sport today.

“Broadway Joe” Namath

Joe Namath is a legendary football player that almost every New Yorker should be familiar with. Playing for the New York Jets for nearly his entire career, Namath was named the Super Bowl MVP and was ultimately able to get his jersey retired with the Jets.

Not only was the great Namath a star on the field, but he had success off of it as well. He hosted his own television show and starred in a number of movies, which led to various show-business opportunities.

Terry Bradshaw

Terry Bradshaw was another fantastic quarterback who played the game with intensity and fierceness. The ultimate competitor, Bradshaw led the Pittsburgh Steelers to victory four times and won numerous MVP titles, which is no easy feat. Not only that, Bradshaw was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame.

Pat Tillman

The former Arizona Cardinals defensive back chose to serve his country as opposed to signing a multi-million dollar contract with the team. The star defensive stalwart was unfortunately killed in action but his memory and actions live on and continue to play a huge role in the NFL.
